  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Messi brought the Herons back to within a goal of Al-Hilal from the penalty spot, opening his 2024 account for the Herons in clinical fashion. The star of the moment, though, was Ruiz. The 19-year-old leveled the match at 3-3 with a heroic solo-run followed by a ridiculously clinical finish into the bottom corner of the net.

  The duo's fantastic two minutes brought Inter Miami level, but it proved to not be enough in the end. Ex-Barcelona winger Malcom scored in the 88th minute, to clinch the win.
